KW Jump Rope Participates in The Good Games
On July 6 and 7, members of KW Jump Rope teamed up with jump rope athletes from across the province to promote the sport of jump rope at The Good Games, held at the University of Guelph. The Good Games are Canada’s largest festival of sport, and this was a great event to showcase jump rope alongside other sports, including beach volleyball, soccer, hockey, basketball and more!
The Ontario Rope Skipping Organization’s Vice President - Bonnie Marquis - organized the jump rope demonstration for the event. When asked about the success of the event, she said everything ran smoothly and jump rope has already been asked to participate in The Good Games next year.
On Sunday, ORSO athletes, including members of KW Jump Rope, put on a show at The Good Games which was filmed and will be featured on Rogers TV. After the show, members of the audience were invited to come up and learn jump rope from the pros.
“There was a lot of interest in jump rope! We had so many kids learning double dutch and jumping with our athletes. The event was a great success.” - Carly Simpson, KW Jump Rope Coach
